Perspecitive on Printing
Abstract:
Printing is one aspect where Linux has pro- gressed very slowly. Most free operating sys- tems continue to use Berkeley LPR, and re- placement printing systems have beenslow to catch on. This paper describes how VA Linux Systems and HP's LaserJet division teamed up to add PPD functionality to lpr.
