Description:
My tutorial covers Big Data as a managed service in the Cloud. As individuals and companies deal with increasing amounts of data they can quickly get up and running with Hadoop and associated tools to store, analyze, and act on their data. Cloud resources are elastic so they can scale up as well as down quickly and easily, no matter the size of the data to be processed.
Who should attend:
Anyone interested in Big Data and the Cloud, specifically those who use Amazon Web Services Elastic MapReduce.
Take back to work:
- The benefits of using managed cloud infrastructure for Big Data
- The changing landscape of Big Data and EMR
- Proper use of Elastic MapReduce
Topics include:
- What is Big Data
- Why is Big Data important
- Big Data in the Cloud
- AWS and EMR
- Storage of data
- Tools (Hue, Spark)
- Interesting projects with EMR
