Birds-of-a-Feather Sessions

Lead or attend a BoF! Meet with your peers! Present new work! Don't miss these special activities designed to maximize the value of your time at the conference. Birds-of-a-Feather sessions are very informal gatherings of persons interested in a particular topic.

Vendor BoFs

Want to demonstrate a new product or discuss your company's latest technologies with NSDI '15 attendees? Host a Vendor BoF! These sponsored one-hour sessions give companies a chance to talk about products and proprietary technology—and they include promotional benefits. Email sponsorship@usenix.org if you're interested in sponsoring a Vendor BoF. Click here for more information about sponsorship opportunities.

BoF Descriptions

Vendor BoF: Open vSwitch Community Forum
Ben Pfaff and Justin Pettit, VMware
Tuesday, May 5, 8:00 pm–9:00 pm, OCC 202

Open vSwitch (OVS) is an open source project with a growing community. Besides its industrial popularity in OpenStack clouds and other uses, OVS is often used in academic research. Furthermore, the Open vSwitch development community continues to diversify. In 2012 and 2013, about 19% of Open vSwitch commits were from contributors outside of Nicira or VMware (the project founders), in 2014 that grew to 24%, and in 2015 that figure continues to rise. This session will highlight the Open vSwitch community and how researchers and others can participate in it and benefit from it.

Beer, wine, soft drinks, and light snacks will be provided.
