Workshop 1: Large Project Deployment
[Back to Workshop Index] Coordinator: Joel Avery, Nortel Networks Information/How to Register Your contribution to your employer is measured by your accomplishments. Many projects that should be easy become overly complex to complete due to a combination of factors, such as:
Participants should be senior administrators, architects or designers that have real world examples of major projects that they either faced, are facing, or are going to face. Completed work will be analyzed for learning opportunities and future work will be critiqued for potential pitfalls. The projects will be evaluated by all participants, and only certain projects will be discussed in detail. Please be prepared to spend up to an hour leading the group through your project. Examples of projects could be:
To apply for the workshop, please submit your project to the workshop coordinator in 100 words or less and one optional diagram. For completed projects please outline the one factor that helped the most, and one factor that impeded the most. For future work (or work in progress) please outline the biggest obstacle to be faced. Also include your job title and qualifications in 50 words or less. The registration email should be sent to project-workshop@usenix.org.
