Work-in-Progress Submission Instructions [Back to Activities]
OrganizationThe OSDI 2000 Work-in-Progress (WiP) session will be held from 4:00 to 5:30 on Tuesday, October 24 during the OSDI 2000 Symposium. The session will consist of a series of 5-minute talks on ongoing research, out of which a minute will be reserved for questions. The WiP session is being organized by Andrew Myers. Call for ParticipationThe Work-in-Progress Session is a chance to present ongoing research that is not yet ready for publication and that has never been presented before, and to get feedback on your work from leading researchers in the field. We are interested in research that is original, interesting, and thought-provoking, even if premature. Student work is particularly welcome, although submission is not limited just to students. Suitable topics include those appropriate for the OSDI symposium. Selection of WiP session talks will be made on the basis of a one-page ASCII abstract (no more than 500 words). This abstract must be e-mailed to osdi2000wip@usenix.org by Monday, October 16th, 2000. This is a hard deadline. Other formats, such as Word, PostScript, or PDF documents, will not be accepted, and longer abstracts will not be read. E-mail notification of acceptance or rejection will be made by October 20th. Submissions should begin with the following information:
If accepted, your WiP presentation will be listed on the conference web site, and you will be expected to provide an extended abstract for the web site as well. Important Dates
Note: A poster session is also being held at OSDI. Authors may submit the same work both for WiP and Poster presentation if they desire.
