Birds-of-a-Feather Sessions (BoFs) - Wednesday-Friday, October 11-13
Share new ideas and interesting projects in progress. BoFs are informal, evening gatherings organized by attendees looking to share their projects with peers and discuss new paths and techniques for their work. Email Danny Cox at alsbofs@usenix.org to schedule a session in advance.

Linux In Action (LIA), Thursday to Saturday, October 12-14, 2000
Designed to educate the general public on the uses of Linux, LIA offers attendees a location where they can see linux being used for various functions including graphics design, network and file service providers, entertainment, and more. A series of pre-configured stations will be provided for hands-on demos of these features by experienced users.

Benefit Dinner - Friday, October 13, 7:00 - 8:30 pm
Show your support for Open Source. You can purchase tickets onsite to this at the conference registration desk. ALS donates the proceeds of this annual dinner to a worthy open source effort. This year, ALS is proud to sponsor the Electronic Frontier Foundation and their efforts in the DeCSS legal battle. Cindy Cohn, Legal Director for the EFF, will speak at the benefit dinner about the DeCSS case.

Linux Journal Readers' Choice Awards - Friday, October 13, 8:30 pm
