Abstract
The Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) has been around for
more than a decade and is supported by most network devices and end
systems. Despite this success, there is still a lack of simple to use
network management applications.
This paper describes the design of an SNMP management tool called
scli which provides an easy and efficient to use SNMP command
line interface. The software architecture has been designed to make it
easy for C programmers without any special SNMP programming skills to
extend the functionality provided by scli.
