Abstract
The Dreams extensions have been developed in order to support distributed real-time applications
within the conventional operating system paradigm. To demonstrate the viability of the extensions,
they have been implemented within Windows NT. This paper introduces the important components
of the Dreams extensions, provides an overview of the implementation, and highlights some of the
experiences gained from the implementation.
