Abstract:
Research Using Windows NT at Purdue University
We currently have only a few research projects (and instructional labs) using Windows NT, but there is interest in migrating additional work to the NT platform.
Current projects using Windows NT include research in geometric modeling, graphics, and visualization, primarily using the OpenGL facilities. Operating systems and programming courses and projects compare and contrast the API of Windows NT and the X/UNIX environment.
Future plans include migrating a UNIX-based distributed simulation system to Windows NT, an NT-based multi-computer for scientific computing, and the development of software tools for security testing and evaluation.
