Did you hear? LISA is the new SAGE
Starting February 14, the USENIX Special Interest Group for Sysadmins will change its name from SAGE to LISA.
What's the deal with the change? Find out below.
Q. How does this affect my SAGE membership?
A. Not at all. The only thing changing is the name. If you're an active SAGE member, you'll receive the same benefits and expiration date withyour LISA membership.
Q. If I'm a current member, will my member login and password still work on the fancy new Web site?
A. Yes. You can sign in at the top of page and set up your new userprofile. Once signed in, you'll be able to access all of the LISA members-only content.
Q. Does the sage-members mailing list still exist?
A. Sorta. It's the same great content with a brand new name. If you're already a member of the SAGE list, you will be automatically part of the LISA list. The only change you should see is the name: lisa-members.
Q. Why are you changing the name? I love SAGE.
A. The SAGE brand is an important part of USENIX history, and we'll miss it, too. However, since LISA is also the name of our popular sysadmin conference, we decided it was best to put all of the USENIX sysadmin-related efforts under one umbrella. From LISA conference videos, to interviews and articles about the latest trends and topics, through an extended "hallway track" via additional communications channels, we're hoping to keep the LISA Conference momentum up all year long.
Q. What about the SAGE Jobs Board?
A. That, too, will still exist under the LISA brand.
In general, the LISA SIG will continue to bring you the Short Topics Books, articles, and mailing list discussion to which you're accustomed. We've just given it a reboot with more energy and a new look.

P.S. The name change is part of the USENIX Web site revamp. We're still working out the kinks of our new site. If you experience any issues logging in, please contact office@usenix.org to get the matter sorted out ASAP. We appreciate your patience during this transition.
