As part of USENIX's ongoing commitment to encourage diversity in advanced computing, we are pleased to offer diversity grants at SREcon24 Europe/Middle East/Africa to support computer scientists and practitioners interested in attending. All computer scientists and practitioners from academia or industry who identify as women or who are members of groups historically excluded from tech are encouraged to apply.
Successful applicants will receive funds to defray the expense of conference attendance. Learn more about the USENIX Grant Program.
The application deadline is Monday, 23 September, 2024, at 11:59 pm Pacific Time.
Eligibility:
- Identify as a woman or a member of another historically excluded group from tech
- Work in or study computer science or related field
- Attend the three full days of the main conference program
- Agree to be contacted by USENIX and diversity grants program sponsors about future events and opportunities
Instructions for Applicants
Complete the application form below.
Your Supporting Statement is the most important part of your application: it should outline your current research, studies, or employment related to the conference topics, tell us why attending the event will be beneficial to you, your financial need, and any other relevant information such as whether you are presenting at the conference.
USENIX is committed to funding the attendance of as many grant applicants as possible based on need. However, the grant application process is competitive, and grant awards are not guaranteed. As a small non-profit organization, USENIX has limited grant funding available. Please do not apply for a grant if you have other funds available to you, such as through your employer, or if you have received a grant through USENIX in the past year.
Late applications will not be considered. Successful applicants will need to submit their Social Security Number (SSN), if applicable, to USENIX prior to receiving their grant.
VISA SUPPORT
If you need an invitation letter to apply for a visa to attend the conference, please contact the Conference Department via conference@usenix.org as soon as possible. Visa applications often take more than two months to process. In your email request, please identify yourself as a grant applicant and include your mailing address. Expect to allow 48-72 hours of lead time when requesting an invitation letter. Please keep this timeline in mind when making a visa appointment.
