HOTEL & TRAVEL INFORMATION

Hotel Reservation Discount Deadline: Friday, November 18, 2005

Why should you stay in the headquarter hotel?
We encourage you to stay in the conference hotel and when making your reservation to identify yourself as a USENIX conference attendee.

It is by contracting rooms for our attendees that we can significantly reduce hotel charges for meeting room rental. And, when the sleeping rooms are not utilized, we face significant financial penalties. As a result, these penalties force us to ultimately raise registration fees.

We recognize, however, that not everyone can afford to stay in the conference hotel so we always try to book venues that have some low-cost alternatives available nearby the conference.

With costs going higher and higher, we are working very hard to negotiate the very best hotel rates and keep other conference expenses down in order to keep registration fees as low as possible. We appreciate you helping us in this endeavor.

TRANSPORTATION
Hotel parking is $2/day for hotel guests and $14/day for non-hotel guests. The Town & Country Resort and Convention Center is approximately 10 minutes from the San Diego International Airport, Lindbergh Field. Airport transportation options include taxi (approximately $20 one way) and XPRESS Shuttle ($9.50 one way). After claiming your luggage, call XPRESS at 800-900-7433 or use the Transportation Courtesy Phones outside the baggage claim area and dial #50. You will then be directed to an XPRESS van.

The San Diego Trolley is adjacent to the Town & Country. It is known for its reliability, safety, and convenience. Often called San Diego's "moving landmark," the Trolley is also a fun way to get around, whether traveling to the International Border or heading to Centre City's shopping, restaurants, harbor, and historic attractions. The San Diego Trolley now serves historic Old Town—California's birthplace—with its many shops and restaurants, Mission San Diego, the USA/Mexico border in San Ysidro, and Qualcomm Stadium at Jack Murphy Field. Further information is available from the San Diego Convention and Visitors Bureau, as well as the Town and Country.
