As part of its ongoing commitment to encourage women to excel in this field, we are pleased to announce the return of our Grants for Women program for SREcon17 Americas. All computer scientists from academia or industry who identify as female are encouraged to apply.
The deadline to receive applications is Monday, February 13, 2017, at 11:59 pm Pacific Time. Notifications of awards will be sent via email prior to the Tuesday, February 21, 2017, Early Bird registration deadline.
Eligibility:
- Identify as a female working in or studying Computer Science or a related field
- Attend the two full days of the main Conference Program
- Agree to be contacted by our Grants for Women program sponsors about future events and opportunities
Instructions for Applicants: Please complete the online grant application form below to be considered for an SREcon17 Americas Grant for Women. Local awardees (those who reside within 50 miles of SREcon17 Americas) will receive a $500 grant, and non-local awardees (those who reside more than 50 miles from SREcon17 Americas) will receive a $850 grant. Awardees can use their grant checks toward registration and/or travel expenses as they see fit.
Your Supporting Statement is the most important part of your application: it should outline your current research, studies, or employment related to the conference topics, tell us why attending the event will be beneficial to you, and any other relevant information such as whether you are presenting at the conference or financial need.
Late applications and materials will not be considered. Successful applicants will need to submit their Social Security number (SSN) to USENIX prior to receiving their grant.
