USENIX has negotiated special rates for conference attendees at the Marriott Rivercenter. Please make your reservation as soon as possible by contacting the hotel directly and mentioning USENIX to get the special group rate. A one-night room deposit must be guaranteed to a major credit card. To cancel your reservation, notify the hotel at least 48 hours prior to your planned arrival date.
Warning: There are many Marriott hotels in San Antonio. Please make sure to stay at the RIVERCENTER property.

Why should you stay in the headquarters hotel?
We encourage you to stay in the conference hotel and when making your reservation to identify yourself as a USENIX conference attendee.
It is by contracting rooms for our attendees that we can significantly reduce hotel charges for meeting room rental. And, when the sleeping rooms are not utilized, we face significant financial penalties. As a result, these penalties force us to ultimately raise registration fees.
We recognize, however, that not everyone can afford to stay in the conference hotel so we always try to book venues that have some low-cost alternatives available nearby the conference.
With costs going higher and higher, we are working very hard to negotiate the very best hotel rates and keep other conference expenses down in order to keep registration fees as low as possible. We appreciate you helping us in this endeavor.

DISCOUNT AIRFARES
Special discounted airfares have been negotiated with United Airlines:
- 5% off any published fare on United Airlines, United Express, or Shuttle
by United.
- 10% off coach fares (BUA) when reservations are made in "M" class and
utilize the MTGUA Unique Fare Basis Code.

TRANSPORTATION TO/FROM SAN ANTONIO
By Air: The San Antonio International Airport is approximately 8 miles from the hotel. Shuttle service is $9 to the downtown district, $16 round trip. Taxi service is $15 to $17 to downtown.
By Train: Amtrak has daily and weekly passenger rail service to and from San Antonio. The Texas Eagle route offers daily service connecting San Antonio to Austin, Fort Worth, Dallas, and other cities north to Chicago, Illinois. The Sunset Limited route serves San Antonio three times a week, running east and west between Miami, Florida, and Los Angeles, California.
By Car: Take 281 (North or South) to the Commerce Street Exit. The San Antonio Marriott RiverCenter Hotel is on the corner of Bowie and Commerce. The San Antonio Marriott RiverCenter Hotel offers valet parking for hotel guests only. The rate of $19 for 24 hours does not include in-and-out privileges. Self-parking garages along Bowie Street charge $5 to $10 per day.
