This was a mixed session. There was one paper by Cam Luerkens from Rockwell on their project to integrate and upgrade 3500 PCs from Windows 3.1 to Windows 95 or NT. They developed a number of tools themselves and convinced a vendor (Hummingbird) to develop NIS password synchronization routines for their NT domain controllers.
The second part was a panel discussion hosted by Boris Netis of Synopsys. The panel included Paul Evans of Synopsys, Chris Rouland of Lehman Brothers and myself. We chatted about the problems IS shops face when NT is introduced to an established environment.
